Taichung has a series of festive events celebrating Christmas and Chinese New Year from December until February. Not only the Taiwan Lantern Festival in Taichung Wen Xin Forest Park and Houli Horse Ranch Forest Park, Disney dream is also coming to Taichung and celebrates the Christmas with us. Welcome people from everywhere in Taiwan to visit Taichung at this moment.
Christmas celebrating event in Taichung will take place in Taichung Liu Chuan (Willow River) and Shin Sei Green Waterway. These two canals have always been a popular site for people to visit since it was newly constructed in 2016. They are first two heavily polluted rivers which no one really noticed. However, the city government improved the water quality by intercepting upstream flow to water treatment plant. Pollution has now been contained to a mild level. In addition, the riverside was designed with artistic installations, lights and more trees, willows are planted. This place is now a perfect place for family outing during the days, kids can see the fish swimming in the river. Plus, this is also a wonderful place for photography during night time when the light in on. Also, another perfect place for couples to come here to chill and just leisurely strolling by the riverside.
This year in Christmas, Taichung City Government has turned this sparkling riverside to an even more sparkling dreamland filled with Disney theme. There will be many sparkling installations of our favorite Disney characters appeared along the riverside and the plaza in front of the Old Taichung Train Station. It is definitely a great opportunity for Disney fans, kids and family to come and live their best Christmas dream ever.
Mickey and Minnie, Winnie the Pooh with his friends will be meeting everyone at the Green Waterway, while all the princesses such as Cinderella, Princess Jasmine, Beauty and the Beast will be at the Willow River. Last but not least, TSUM TSUM gingerbread house and Christmas tree will be in front of the Old Taichung Train Station.
Besides, there are also Disney theme music concerts on every Saturday and Sunday since Dec 6th and the magical music light shows every thirty minutes from 6 pm on Thursday to Sunday.
