Keelung City Government launches "supplementary school" services for new immigrant mothers, and childcare services for their children

The Keelung City Government will be providing temporary childcare services to new immigrant mothers giving them time to take supplementary classes. 1 childcare worker will be allocated for every 5 children under the age of 6.

New immigrant mothers can have peace of mind while taking their classes without having to worry about their children. Those who complete 3 years of supplementary school will be awarded graduation or a completion certificate

Director of the Department of Education, Keelung City Government Lin Chu-li 林祝里 said that to increase the rate of education, Jian De Junior High School (基隆市立建德國民中學), Municipal Mingchuan Junior High School (基隆市立銘傳國中), Badou Senior High School (基隆市立八斗高級中學), Keelung Municipal Ren Ai Elementary School (基隆市仁愛國民小學)， Jien-De Elementary School (桃園市桃園區間的國民小學)， Zhonghe Elementary School (中和國小), and Jilongshixinyiqushenao Elementary School (基隆市信義區深澳國民小學) has 3 junior high and 5 elementary schools with supplementary schools.

This year, the Department of Education, Keelung City Government will provide "New Immigrant Mothers Going to Supplementary Schools, Schools Providing Childcare" services.

Enrollment qualifications for the supplementary schools for elementary school levels are applicants must be at least 12 years old, and have not complemented elementary schools. Qualifications for junior high school levels are applicants must be at least 15 years old and possessing a junior high school diploma or an equivalent.

The registration period will be from now until September 6. For related inquiries, please contact the supplementary schools for both junior high and elementary school levels in various counties.
