According to The Star, a study shows that blue tits in the south of France have lost some of their plumage's color over the course of 15 years. The French scientists who supervised this study claim that it is a direct result of global warming.
Two populations of blue tits, one in the northwest of Corsica and the other on the outskirts of Montpellier, were the subject of the study. The blue crest and the golden breast of these tiny passerine birds define them.
But during their 15-year observation period, the researchers discovered a definite decline in color in the two populations of birds they had been studying. It is a change that the study's authors directly link to climate change – an increase in temperature and a decrease in rainfall.

The expert cautions that these modifications could interfere with these birds' mating rituals in addition to having an aesthetic impact.
