The European Union (EU) recently announced the inclusion of Taiwan in its safe travel list. The EU also made a rare public display of the Taiwan flag on its official Twitter account. Aside from the countries with ties to the US, both the national flags of Taiwan and of China were included in the pictures showing the two different countries.

The Council of the European Union formally announced and suggested revising the list of countries, special administrative regions, and other territories with travel restrictions. Taiwan, the United States, Albania, Lebanon, Serbia, North Macedonia, Hong Kong, and Macau are now on this list. Countries already on the list are Japan, Korea, Singapore, Rwanda, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Israel, and China (based on reciprocity). More countries will be added in the future.
