Summer in Taiwan has arrived. In addition, during this period, schools in Taiwan have already closed for summer vacation. Many people go travel either in Taiwan or abroad. For a domestic destination, one of the most popular among Taiwanese is Taitung.
Taitung County is located in the southeast of Taiwan Island. It is one of Taiwan's most beautiful ocean and natural scenery. It is a city surrounded by mountains and the home of many Taiwan indigenous. There are many famous and interesting attractions such as Sanxiantai bridge (三仙台橋), Green Island (綠島), Orchid (蘭嶼) etc.
Every year, Taitung will organize the largest and most famous international balloon festival in Taiwan “Taiwan International Balloon Festival”, this event not only has Taiwan colorful balloons, but also many balloons in various designs from many countries. The event can attract more than a million domestic and international tourists, and also make Taitung to become well known internationally as well as color the Taitung tourism.
The 2019 International Balloon Festival will be held from June 29 to August 12, 2019 at Luye Highland, Luyang Township, Taitung County. There are 40 balloons in various shape and cartoons designs.
In addition to the balloon show venue at Luye Highland, Luye City, Taitung County, it will be the the first year that the balloon is being shown at Green Island.

There is also balloon with light and sound show that will be held regularly in the evening of every Saturday throughout the duration of the event. There are total 9 shows, 8 shows will be organized according to the major attractions in Taitung County (Luye Highland, Sanxiantai, Dapo Pond, Millennium Dawn Memorial Park and Zhiben Hot Spring) and 1 will be held in Green Island.

The most convenient way to get there is by train. Take TRA train to Luoye station (鹿野火車站) and take the East Rift Valley Route shuttle bus to Luye Highland (鹿野高台) (shuttle bus will be parked at Taiwan Tourist Shuttle, take a walk along Zhongzheng Street for 3 minutes).
