In this cold winter, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Taipei (天主教台北總教區牧靈中心) collaborated with volunteers from the Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation (佛教慈濟基金會), sending thick blankets, beanies, scarves, thick socks, instant noodles to the industrious migrant workers in Taiwan. The collective effort conveys the spirit of "cross-religion".

Nguyen Hongyan (阮紅艷), a nun from Vietnam, has been responsible for taking care of fishermen and collecting donations for a long time. Her helping hands reach foreign fishermen from 34 ports across Taiwan.
She wound approach those in need and start collecting necessities for the migrant fishermen. Affected by COVID-19, it is more challenging to ask for donations this year. Hence, she decided to corporate with religious organizations, connect love & care, and send heartwarming supplies to the fishermen.

Religious group volunteer Jin Jin Qing (金晉卿) said that foreign fishermen left their homes that are thousands of miles away from Taiwan. Most of them are from Southeast Asia and did not expect the winter in Taiwan would be very cold, so they did not prepare enough clothing or supplies. This is therefore the items that can keep them warm are the most essential ones to them.
