Multiple channels provided for migrant workers entering Taiwan to get the 2nd jab of vaccines

Starting November 11, 2021, Taiwan allows the entry of foreign workers, and the first batch of Indonesian migrant workers will arrive in Taiwan on November 17.

For migrant workers entering Taiwan who has not completed two doses of vaccines, the spokesman of the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) - Chuang Jen-hsiang (莊人祥) states that there are multiple channels for migrant workers living in Taiwan to be vaccinated, and this will also be provided to migrant workers coming to Taiwan.

Minister of Labor Hsu Ming-chun (許銘春) said that there are 96 Indonesian caregivers coming to Taiwan in the first batch. Out of them, 7 migrant workers have not been fully vaccinated. In addition, 11 migrant workers will enter Taiwan this Wednesday.

Since caregivers inevitably have close contact with high-risk groups such as elders and disabled people. This is therefore it is worrisome for migrant workers who are not fully vaccinated.

In this regard, Chuang stated in the press conference that all migrant workers in Taiwan can get vaccinated through the COVID-19 vaccination registration platform.

Individuals can get vaccinated at certain clinics and hospitals without the need to make appointments through the platform.

Besides, CECC also actively promotes outreach services. For companies that have more than 100 migrant workers who need to be vaccinated, can directly contact the health bureau. Vaccination services from the medical unit will be provided. Lastly, it is emphasized that there are a variety of channels for migrant workers living or entering Taiwan to get vaccinated, and hopefully, this will enable migrant workers to work in Taiwan healthily and safely.
