According to INQUIRER.net | Philippine news for Filipinos that university’s debate organization stated that debate team of Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) won gold at the World Universities Debating Championship (WUDC), which is hosted by the World Universities Debating Council.

The Philippine team competed for the championship on Wednesday in Madrid, Spain, against competitors from Princeton University, Brown University, Harvard University, and other universities around the world.

Ateneo A, David Africa, and Toby Leung are honored to be recognized as the World Universities Debating Championship champions by the Ateneo Debate Society. One of the biggest and most diversified university-level competitions is the World Universities Debating Championship, which attracts teams from all around the world.

Other students from the university are also present, including Ateneo B with Quintin Chua and Aly Barranda and Ateneo C with Bern Advincula and Zen Tiangco. According to INQUIRER.net | Philippine news for Filipinos, this was the third year in a row that the Ateneo Debate Society made it to the finals, the organization stated. Maria Luz Vilches, vice president of the Loyola Schools ADMU, congratulated the group.
