According to the Taipei City Government, a group of fortunate passengers traveled in the "Eyes of Fireworks" cabin on the Maokong Gondola during Taipei's New Year's Eve Countdown Party and observed the pyrotechnic performance at Taipei 101 from high above the city during Taipei's New Year's Eve Countdown Party. The winners of the annual New Year's Eve fireworks display ride were randomly chosen from nearly 5,000 visitors who submitted messages on Taipei Metro's fan page, with the odds of winning this year being roughly 0.4 percent.
The Maokong Gondola's "Eyes of Fireworks" cabin was launched in 2020, drawing over 4,000 raffle participants. When the fireworks started this year, the cable car operators slowed down the pace of the cars to allow passengers on the gondola to enjoy the show.
The fact that they were able to see the fireworks with their friends is, according to one of the lucky riders, a gift to them. The traces of the explosions resemble polar lights when observed from the cabins, despite the surrounding temperature of 12 degrees Celsius and a light drizzle, making this New Year's Eve pretty memorable.
Passengers on 11 cabins departing from the gondola's Taipei Zoo Station and 11 cabins departing from the gondola's Maokong Station are among those lucky enough to see the New Year's Eve fireworks, according to the Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC). The portion between Angle Station 2 and Zhinan Temple Station is the greatest place to observe the fireworks.

Passengers on the "Eye of Pyrotechnics" received Taipei Metro Choice coffees, light sticks, and a "Eyes of Fireworks" ride certificate as a bonus, allowing them to enjoy the time before, during, and after the fireworks.
