[Taiwan Immigrants Global News Network] The holiday for this year’s Chinese New has 10 consecutive days. Starting from January 20 to January 29, although most public offices are off, the Immigration Agency of the Ministry of the Interior still provides a number of convenience services that will not close, such as: the 1990 hotline, the ID card loss service, etc. If you have any internal problems, please call the 1990 hotline within 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., the service is available in 7 languages.

If you lose your national identity card during the Chinese New Year, we provide a 24-hour service for lost national identity cards. Call the ‘1990 hotline’, or manually report the loss of the national identity card online at the ‘Department of Household Registration’. After reporting the loss, if it turns out that the identity card was found before applying for a new card replacement, you can also cancel the loss report on the website or call the service center after Chinese New Year, or contact any office of the Household Registration Department to cancel the loss report.

If people need to apply for household administration related registration after the Chinese New Year, they can also use ‘Online Household Registration Service’, go to the household office at the designated time to save waiting time for on-site application.

The National Immigration Agency stated that to help foreigners and new residents living in Taiwan, they have provided a free consultation hotline for ‘foreigners residing in Taiwan’, in addition to Chinese, English, and Japanese, they now provide consulting services in Vietnamese, Indonesian, Thai, and Cambodian. It is expected that new residents will make the most out of the service.
