Call the ‘1990 hotline’, or manually report the loss of the national identity card online at the ‘Department of Household Registration’. After reporting the loss, if it turns out that the identity card was found before applying for a new card replacement, you can also cancel the loss report on the website or call the service center after Chinese New Year, or contact any office of the Household Registration Department to cancel the loss report.
