In recent months, fraud texts have become more common. The public is advised by Taiwan Water Corporation to not click on the link or reply if they receive a text message requesting them to pay their bill by texting back "1" or visiting an associated webpage. The same advice applies if they receive a text message warning them that their water bill is owed, and their water will be turned off if they don't do so. Don't let fraud lure you in.

The user's respond to Taiwan Water Corporation states that the text message he got indicated that the sender claimed to be "Taiwan Water Corporation" and noted that the user's water payment was past due. The sender urged the user to input "1" as a reply or visit the linked website to pay the bill. If this does not happen, the water will be turned off at midnight.
