The Centeral Epidemic Control Center (CECC/中央流行疫情指揮中心) has extended the Level 3 Alert to 28th Jun. 2021. In light of the alert, immigration amnesty request by illegal aliens and foreigners who overstayed their visas will continue to be processed by the National Immigration Agency (NIA/移民署). Applicants will be requested to register effective means of contact in order to bolster existing channels of communication and safeguard the relevant communities against COVID-19.

NIA’s regional service centers and local teams had established networks of volunteers, interpreters, and social media platforms to broadcast relevant COVID-19 guidelines and parameters. Essential information such as “What To Do If You Are Sick” and “When To Self-Isolate and What To Do” are publicly available to nationals and foreign nationals alike.

Ming-Lung Chiang(江銘隆), a NIA Vice-Captain for the northern city of Keelung, has reaffirmed that NIA’s regional service teams will continue to accept applications for immigration amnesty. Chiang has also called upon the public to encourage overstayed foreign nationals to self-report and to secure a way home with NIA as soon as possible.
