Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages to Publish “The First Teaching Material in English” with National Sports Training Center

In order to encourage national athletes to go international and improve their English skills, Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages cooperates with the National Sports Training Center, published the first sports English teaching material "Sports English" in the country with the long-term professional foreign teachers stationed in National Sports Training Center, provide customized language courses. The athletes from Taiwan are expected to be recognized internationally by sports world with fluent English.

As Taiwanese athletes gain popularity in major international sports events, it is becoming more and more important for athletes to have fluent English communication skills. Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages cooperates with the National Sports Training Center to offer English courses. A total of 25 units of sports English textbooks.

National Sports Training Center located in Zuoying District, Kaohsiung, is the cradle for nurturing Taiwanese elite sports players. Given that English is an international language, if players can coordinate with international event organizers, communicate with referees, or other international players with fluent English it would benefits overall performance of the competition.

With the 2030 bilingual policy, Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages is also the only foreign language university in Taiwan that features foreign language education. Since 2017, it has cooperated with the National Sports Training Center to help sports players improve their foreign language skills and achieve cross-field teaching. Now it combines English with sports and took the lead in publishing the first series of sports English teaching materials in the country to improve the English ability of Taiwanese athletes.
