NIA Yunlin County Service Center invites new immigrant from Egypt to teach Muay Thai

Zhang Mo (張莫), a professional Muay Thai player and new immigrant from Egypt, taught the students the fundamentals of Muay Thai and how to use self-defense at a course (跟著法老王阿莫學泰拳) held on April 16 by the NIA Yunlin County Service Center.

After marrying his wife, Zhang Mo, who is originally from Egypt, has lived in Taiwan for more than six years. Because Zhang Mo plays Muay Thai professionally, he has earned national player status in Taiwan, won a national championship, and founded a boxing facility in Yunlin to promote Muay Thai. He was later invited by the NIA Yunlin County Service Center to guide the students in practice while also lecturing the class on the background of Muay Thai and the basics of self-defense.

The director (陳駿璿) of NIA Yunlin County Service Center stated that through multicultural events it is hoped that people will pay greater attention to foreign cultures and encourage more frequent interactions between various civilizations. Similar events will still be organized in the future to provide participants a better knowledge of other cultures, encourage the integration of variety, and boost the pluralistic evolution of society.
