The offices of 16 EU member states in Taiwan together staged the grand "2023 Europe Festival" in Huashan Cultural and Creative Park to commemorate "Europe Day" and the 20th anniversary of the European Economic and Trade Office (EETO) in Taiwan. The event was also attended by the Ministry of Culture, the director of the EETO, Filip Grzegorzewski, Foreign Minister (吳釗燮), Deputy Mayor of Taipei (林奕華, and ambassadors from European nations in Taiwan.

For the past two years, the EETC has hosted a booth at the European Festival to raise money for charity in support of Ukraine. The offices of EU member states in Taiwan intend to use the occasion to demonstrate solidarity with Ukraine in addition to marking European Day and demonstrating Taiwan's ability to assist on a global scale.

The Slovak Economic and Cultural Office, Taipei in Taiwan and the EETO both celebrated their twentieth anniversaries this year, according to Foreign Affairs Minister(吳釗燮). Taiwan's relations with the EU and other European nations have greatly improved in recent years. To express their love for Taiwan, numerous European delegations have also visited Taiwan. Taiwan is appreciative of European nations' emphasis on maintaining the peace across the Taiwan Strait, and together with its European allies, Taiwan will continue to help Ukraine in the future.

The director of EETO, Filip Grzegorzewski, thanked the other co-organizers in his address for their support of the European Festival and stated that it was to honor "Europe Day" on May 9 to remember the signing of the " Schuman Declaration" in Europe following World War II. According to EETO, the money donated this year would be utilized to help Ukraine by buying ambulances.

Co-founder of the Taiwan Stands With Ukraine (台灣烏克蘭陣線), Alex Khomenko, who was wearing a "cat graffiti" top that represents the friendship between Taiwan and Ukraine, expressed his pleasure to work with the European Economic and Trade Office and said he hoped to use the event to raise money for the shipping of ambulances to Ukraine as evidence to the rest of the world that Taiwan can help.
