According to Radio Taiwan International, foreign nationals with entry permit that expire between May 19 and June 30 are receiving an automatic 3-month extension. That was the word from the labor ministry (MOL).

The move is aimed to make things easier for Taiwanese employers in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. They will not need to apply for this extension. A recent spike in domestically-transmitted cases led to a ban on foreign nationals from entering Taiwan beginning May 19.

Radio Taiwan International mentions, about 8,500 employers will benefit from the move.
