Taipei 2023 39th Asian International Stamp Exhibition ends, featured the World's Rarest Stam

The "Taipei 2023 39th Asian International Stamp Exhibition" finished on August 15, which lasted five days. After 8 years, Taipei will once more host this exhibition. A variety of countries' priceless stamp collections are on display during the exhibition. The World's Rarest Stam "The British Guiana ONE CENT Magenta" is this year's exhibit's standout, drawing a large crowd.

Members of the Inter-Asia Philatelic Federation and philatelists from 26 nations and regions were invited to take part in this exhibition. 89 postal services and postal merchants from other nations also set up booths to showcase and provide a range of postal items. The World's Rarest Stam "The British Guiana ONE CENT Magenta," which is on display in Asia for the first time and is valued at US$8.3 million (about NT$260 million), is one among them. In addition to setting up a separate display room for it, the site also sends out security and tour guides.

Because the Guiana stamps ran out and it was too late to mail them from England, "The British Guiana ONE CENT Magenta" was printed in a local newspaper in 1856, according to Chunghwa Post. There is now only one remaining in existence. In 2021, the UK will purchase it back for US$8.3 million after multiple ownership changes.
