The cross-cultural power of food has been demonstrated globally. Take Taiwan as an example, the street food and beverages such as chicken chop, braised pork rice and bubble tea are available all over the world with the promotion of the government and the private sectors. In recent years, bubble tea has gone viral worldwide and become one of the instagramable drinks on the Internet.

According to the Overseas Community Affairs Council, Republic of China, after opening shops in Dubai in 2012, Sharetea (歇腳亭), one of Taiwan's most well-known bubble milk tea companies, will expand its Middle East and reach to Kuwait.

In preparation for entering the market in the oil-producing country, Sharetea has struck an agreement with a partner in Kuwait, making it the only foreign hand-shaken beverage brand there.

In 1992, Sharetea launched a black tea shop on Nanyang Street in downtown Taipei. Hong Kong, the United States, Canada, the Czech Republic, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam, as well as Dubai, currently have over 350 outlets.
