Jayson Castro leads TNT past Terrafirma

According to [The Manila Times], TNT Tropang Giga defeated Terrafirma, 86-79, in the second playing day of the PBA Philippine Cup at the Ynares Arena in Pasig City on Saturday.

Veteran playmaker Jayson Castro paced TNT with 17 points. Troy Rosario added 14 points and 11 rebounds.

"We've just taken our first step as a team today. Kami, we're really (starting) from scratch," said TNT coach Chot Reyes. "This is really our first experience, coming together to play as a team. We still have a lot to learn."

Aldrech Ramos led Terrafirma with 17 points.

TNT eyes 3rd straight win vs phoenix. "I thought Terrafirma did a good job in beating us in the effort department, especially in that fourth quarter," Reyes said.

In the second game, Magnolia Pambansang Manok subdued Phoenix Super LPG, 80-73, behind the 26-point, 10-rebound performance of Calvin Abueva.

Paul Lee added 21 markers for the Hotshots.

According to [The Manila Times], Phoenix was led by Matthew Wright who finished with 20 points and 8 assists.
