A "Muslim-friendly accommodation counseling certification briefing" was held by the Tourism Bureau of the Kaohsiung City Government, which invited the secretary-general of the Chinese Muslim Association, Republic of China (Taiwan), to speak about Muslim culture with more than 20 hotel operators. Expecting to develop Muslim-friendly environmental services through experience exchange in addition to professional expertise.
According to the 2023 Global Muslim Travel Index, GMTI, Taiwan gained third position in the "non-OIC destination" project, and 18 enterprises have received more than 24 Muslim certificates, according to the director of the tourism bureau of the Kaohsiung City Government.
In addition, about 530,000 tourists from Malaysia visit Taiwan every year, of which more than 70,000 of them visit Kaohsiung. Last year, Taiwan also welcomed the first group of Muslim groups to visit attractions such as Qijin and the Asia New Bay Area in Kaohsiung.

The island-style of Qijin astounded the Muslim tour group members, they were ㄇalso impressed by the enthusiasm of the Kaohsiung people. In addition to having unique requirements for food and prayer, Muslim visitors usually travel with family,

The hotel operators who took part in the briefing thanked the Tourism Bureau for planning the meeting so that the hotel business could better understand Muslim tourists' needs, such as the prayer schedule and worship directions.
