Pandemic slows in Taiwan, Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that epidemic prevention measures implemented to traditional markets and night markets are loosened under certain conditions. The Ministry of Economic Affairs emphasized that the prerequisite for opening up is still focusing on epidemic prevention, and therefore formulated the "COVID guidelines for traditional and night markets".
The Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs, Chern-Chyi Chen (陳正祺) announced the "COVID guidelines for traditional and night markets" to the public, and the video is in five languages including Mandarin, English, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, helping new residents in Taiwan to understand the epidemic prevention regulations.

Ministry of Economic Affairs states that the key regulations are as follows. Sample trying are prohibited and no eating while walking. Reservations for take-out or delivery are strongly encouraged. Food and beverage businesses must place shields or partitions. Besides, checkerboard seating should also be implemented with a 1.5-meter social distancing between different tables. Food should be an individual set but not in the form of share plates or buffets.
Besides, crowd control is also active at the entrances of the traditional markets and night markets. Measures include maintaining social distancing, implementing contact tracing, controlling the number of people entering the places, and even prohibiting some stalls located in the middle of the road from operating when it is necessary.

Furthermore, to assist local vendors to tap into new business opportunities, the Ministry of Economic Affairs provide a subsidy of NT$1,800 to vendors which use mobile payment. Besides, the government also grants subsidies ranging from NT$2,000 to NT$10,000 to encourage various vendors to promote mobile payment.
