Foreign students were recently invited to participate in plum picking and brewing activities in the campus garden (詩經科技花園) by the Chinese Language Center at National Dong Hwa University. During the process of harvesting and brewing, foreign students came to know plum trees, plum flowers, and plums while also understanding the cultural connotations associated with them.

This is the third year in a row that the school has organized plum harvesting events. The six plum trees in the campus garden (詩經科技花園) have been there for more than 50 years as well. In contrast to past years, the teacher personally guided the class while they made plum vinegar. More than ten nations, including the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Czech Republic, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Japan, were represented among the international students who took part in the activity, in which students can enjoy choosing and brewing on their own.
