The 11th Taiwan-U.S. Trade and Investment Framework Agreement Council (TIFA) meeting is scheduled for June 30 via video conference. 

Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Spokesperson Joanne Ou expressed: “Trade & investment are the beating heart of #Taiwan-#US relations. We welcome the staging of the 11th TIFA Council meeting via video conference June 30 Taiwan time, & look forward to further cooperation & new opportunities in areas of mutual interest.”

The online conference will be hosted by Executive Yuan Administrative Council Member John Deng and United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai. In a meeting on June 6, they announced that the conference on June 30 will push through.

Joanne Ou also pointed out that despite the political and economic changes caused by the worldwide pandemic, the Taiwan-US economic and trade relations still have many opportunities for cooperation. Both MOFA and the Office of Trade Negotiations, Executive Yuan along with other relevant units continue to work together to deepen the economic and trade relations between the US and Taiwan.
