Recently, there are over one million of new immigrants who have moved to our country and actively seeking for job opportunities. Which in term, make Taiwan’s ethnic groups become more diverse. Many NGO organizations are assisting new ethnic group to adapt to local life and reduce the barriers between languages. Perhaps, create multilingual medical flash cards and offer medical assurance for them can be one of the solution.

During the process of seeing a doctor in Taiwan, new immigrants and migrant workers need an assistance to do the translation in every procedure, including their own physical concerns, cause of I juries, treatment methods, and follow-up care. As patients, they often seems invisible although they are in the appointment room because they will need the translator to deliver the message after doctor.

In different cities, medical staff and workers from immigrant labor organizations accompanied to see the appointment, create their own multilingual education leaflets or help translate the form assist by foreign patients. This is not only to reduce the barriers for pharmacists to communicate with patients about the instruction of the pills, but also for foreign nurses to take care of  patients with chronic disease, and to be able to instruct medication in a familiar language, so that both caregivers and patients can feel relaxed.
