From April 25 to 26, the yearly Tunghai University International Week was formally held, which featured an area for foreign cuisine and multicultural experiences. In conjunction with International Week, employees and Mobile Outreach Service from the National Immigration Agency Taichung City Service Center compiled a list of common safety precautions that students from Hong Kong, Macao, China, and other countries living in Taiwan should be aware of and help students understand their rights of residence in Taiwan. National Immigration Agency's Foreign students and Overseas Chinese students Online Application System now accepts applications and payments for new applications, changes, and extensions of student residency. NIA reminds students to apply for "extension" in the system within 30 days of their residence permit expiring and pay the fee; if their residence address changes, they must also access the system online within 15 days to update their information and leave a contact in the system. To complete the extension and change processes, enter your email address and cell phone number on the internet, and then visit the service center to return your old residence card and obtain a new one.

According to the director (王驥) of the National Immigration Agency Taichung City Service Center that only by legally residing in Taiwan can one enjoy school life with peace of mind. The "Expanded Overstayers Voluntary Departure Program" has begun, those who qualify for the program must self-report to the National Immigration Agency by June 30 of this year (2023) and will get a lenient treatment of "minimum fines, no detention, exemption of entry ban" allow one to reapply for a visa to enter Taiwan after leaving your home country. Students can also get assistance through the "Foreigners Living in Taiwan Consultation Service Hotline 1990" if they run into issues while studying here.
