The "New Immigrants Ask the Presidential Candidates" symposium, which will take place on November 12, is being organized by groups that have long been concerned about the rights and services of new immigrants. As the 2024 presidential election draws near, these groups hope to enable people from all walks of life to pay attention to the needs of new immigrants. They have also invited the four current candidates who are interested in running for office, discussed their political views on issues pertaining to new immigrants, and taken questions from groups representing them.

One of the event's organizers, Hung Ming-chien (洪銘謙), stated that he has long been concerned about the rights of new immigrants and that he knows plenty of partners who share his viewpoints. They have all agreed that there hasn't been much progress made in the rights of new immigrants, which is why they're holding a symposium in unison before to the presidential election. Indeed, he hopes to hear back from the presidential contenders.

Each candidate will have 30 minutes at the symposium to present policy pertaining to new immigrants. Following the presentation of political views, there will be a half-hour Q&A period. Three questions will be chosen on the day of the event from a question bank that the organizer will supply beforehand. The organizers are hoping that candidates would anticipate and recognize the requirements of new immigrants beforehand, allowing for the acceptance and satisfaction of their requests and the willingness of every political party to include the new immigrant groups when formulating legislation.
