“2022 New Taipei City Lantern Festival (新北燈會)” has started from today until February 28 at New Taipei Metropolitan Park. The grand event was launched by the New Taipei City Mayor - Hou You Yi (侯友宜) together with guests, showing a 143-second splendid light show.

The 120-meter-long main light installation "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (臥虎藏龍)" with LED & laser lights unveil majestic installations, allowing the public to understand the cultural diversity of New Taipei City.

This year, the main theme of the lantern festival is “Lantern Theater”, and the environment of New Taipei Metropolitan Park fuses with traditions and interactive & exotic elements.

Combined with local cultures, 7 themed light areas and 6 types of performances are designed to provide the public with a variety of lantern viewing pleasures. The activities have adopted high-standard pandemic prevention measures, and the public can enjoy the lanterns with peace of mind during 228 holidays.
