In addition to co-hosting the "Anti-Scam Asia Summit" in Taipei, the call identification software Whoscall and the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA) also unveiled the inaugural "Asia Scam Report" at the event. According to the survey, around 35% of individuals in Taiwan have come across fraud on social media, and 40% of people in the country experience fraud more frequently than once a week.

Over 20,000 people were questioned for the "Asia Scam Report" throughout 11 Asian areas. According to the report, 40% of individuals in Taiwan experience fraud more frequently than once a week, compared to over 60% of people in Asia who are exposed to it at least once a week.

The survey noted that text messages and phone calls are the most often utilized media for fraud in Asia. Over 75% of the respondents reported receiving phony calls or texts from eight different areas. Due to the widespread use of digital services, social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram as well as instant messaging apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, and LINE have become hubs for fraud. About 35% of Taiwanese adults report having experienced fraud on social media.

Furthermore, the employment of AI and deepfake technologies in fraud has started. People and corporations are more prone to fall victim to fraud traps when they see convincingly realistic-looking scams, videos, and voices created by advanced technology.

Out of the five areas in Asia, "personal information theft" is the most significant fraud concern in terms of scenarios. "Investment fraud" and "shopping fraud" came next, both ranking first in three different locations.

According to the report, financial institutions, e-commerce, business services, labor markets, government units, and other businesses are all impacted by "personal information theft/swiping," "bill payment fraud," "shopping fraud," "investment fraud," "fake government/bank fraud," etc. in Taiwan.
