According to The Star, in three images released on social media recently by his eldest son, actor Timmy Hung, Hong Kong action hero Sammo Hung turned 70 on Friday (Jan 7), and appeared to have gained weight.
One of them was a three-generation shot of Timmy, 47, and his father, as well as his two sons, ages eight and six. Another was of his father with his two boys.
There was also a snapshot of his father and his younger brother Jimmy, a performer, from decades ago.

Sammo also has a daughter and a younger son.
Timmy wrote in the comment section: "Dad, I'd want to wish you a very happy birthday. Every day, I wish Daddy good health and happiness."

In May 2020, fans were taken aback when images released on social media by Hong Kong artist Alan Tam revealed Sammo had lost a significant amount of weight.
He had knee surgery in 2017 and has been photographed in wheelchairs or with a walking stick in the past.

Netizens speculated that he was sick after seeing the photographs.
