Tainan City recently seized mooncakes sent from Vietnam that tested positive for African swine fever (非洲豬瘟). Many people are worried if there is still "safe pork" (安全豬肉) to eat. The Tainan City Government Agriculture Bureau (台南市政府農業局) has produced multilingual anti-epidemic posters to promote the prevention of African swine fever to new immigrants and migrant workers. The Tainan City Government continues to make every effort to prevent the occurrence of African swine fever and jointly protect Taiwan’s swine industry.

Tainan City Mayor Huang Wei-Che (黃偉哲) said that some people still continuously send pork products containing the African swine fever virus to Taiwan, and it has already been five months, although Taiwan has not had an African swine fever breakout, still, it must not be taken lightly. The hazards of foot-and-mouth disease have passed but there is still the danger of African swine fever to reappear. The Agriculture Bureau also sent out personnel to visit the city's 598 pig farms to check on the health condition of the pigs and the biosafety inspection guidelines.

In addition, because the African swine fever incident was triggered by moon cakes imported from Vietnam, the Tainan City Government immediately produced epidemic prevention posters in English, Vietnamese, and Indonesian, and asked the Civil Affairs Bureau (民政局) and the Ministry of Labor (勞工局) to cooperate in the promotion and strengthening of the concept of epidemic prevention among new immigrants and migrant workers to avoid causing a breach.
