The Taiwan Blood Services Foundation's data show that the shortage alert for blood banks in Taiwan has not yet been withdrawn. The situation in Taichung and Kaohsiung is the direst, with just 3.8 days of safe supply remaining and all blood types in Kaohsiung in "urgent shortage" condition. The most type A blood is lacking in Taichung.

The normal blood safety stock is seven to ten days; however, Taiwan presently only has enough blood on hand for 4.8 days, according to the Taiwan Blood Services Foundation. The first summer break following the country's opening coincided with it, and more individuals traveled overseas than previously, according to the head of Taipei Blood Center, which comparatively decreased the readiness to donate blood. As a result, since June, the blood supply has been decreasing, particularly in the central and southern areas. Heavy rains and hot weather two to three weeks ago had a significant impact on the number of persons who went outside to donate blood.

The Taipei Blood Center's director also noted that, despite having a 5-day supply of blood on hand, the facility may soon run out of blood as daily blood use rises. Therefore, the general public is advised to donate blood to contribute the society. The Taipei Blood Center anticipate working with other organizations in the future to plan diverse blood donation events and boost blood supplies.
