Ministry of the Interior organized the “2021 Interpreter Policy Workshop” on December 8. Minister of State of the Executive Yuan - Luo Bing Cheng (羅秉成), and the Administrative Deputy Minister of the National Immigration Agency - Qiu Chang Yue (邱昌嶽) attended the event and addressed to the participants.

Qiu Chang Yue also said that the workshop held today invites people from different fields to share their practical experiences. It is hoped that through brainstorming and sharing personal opinions, interpreting services can be further improved.

According to the Ministry of the Interior, it is common for personnel working in civil affairs, police units, immigration units, and fire bureau to put interpreting into practice. For example, Cai Li Qing (蔡麗清), a new immigrant from the Philippines, has been serving as an interpreter at the NIA (Taipei City Service Center) for about two years. Before that, she worked as an interpreter for 6 years and served in the NIA, Ministry of Labor, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Prevention Center, police station, court and other units.
