The Taiwanese government has simplified key rules for hiring foreign university graduates since April of this year and removed the first need of two years of work experience in order to address the talent shortage in the semiconductor sector. Three talent recruitment missions are planned by the Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs this year, traveling to Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, India, and other nations to seek out local college students for "direct employment" or "study in Taiwan."

At the end of March of this year, the first team visited six prestigious universities in Singapore and Malaysia to recruit students, including National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), University of Malaya (UM), and University of Raman (UTAR). TSMC, MediaTek, and UMC and other Taiwanese businesses taking part in the hiring process. Additionally, on-site promotions of Taiwan's semiconductor learning and employment environment were made by National Yang Ming Jiao Tong University, National Cheng Kung University, National Taiwan University, and others.
The first talent-hunting event attracted a lot of interest, according to the Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and the firm interviewed more than 300 people. To improve the efficiency of hiring and matchmaking, the follow-up two groups want to include the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, India, and other target nations with talent quality attributes and cultures comparable to Taiwan.
