Taiwan has collaborated with the humanitarian organizations Open Society Foundation and Pontis Foundation in Slovakia to aid in the restoration of the war-torn Ukraine and will donate US$5 million to help rebuild Ukraine with Slovakia.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that Taiwanese representative to Slovakia David Lee (李南陽) signed a cooperation agreement in the presence of Elena Kohútiková, the Slovak Prime Minister's Council of Advisors Chairwoman, and established an executive committee with nonprofits to jointly review the reconstruction plan put forth by Ukraine and determine the best method of implementation based on urgency. Rebuild the educational and medical infrastructure in the Chernihiv region with a priority.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Taiwan collaborated with Slovakia's ministries of foreign affairs and interior, donated US$2.1 million, and delivered more than 350 tons of humanitarian aid supplies after the Ukrainian-Russian War broke out last year to help the Ukrainians settle in Slovakia and the surrounding area. Taiwan will soon bring Taiwanese businesspeople to take part in the restoration of Ukraine's motherland and actively participate in the executive committee's reconstruction program.
