National Center of Photography and Images organized “Crystalized Times: Centenary Memorial Exhibition of Photographers of Taiwan” for three pioneers of Photography in Taiwan - Lee Ming-tiao (李鳴鵰), Dennis K. Chin (秦凱), and Lin Chuan-tsu (林權助).

In the exhibition, one can explore the memories of the photographers through the precious images captured and understand the history and society in the past.

Lee Ming tiao's photos depict Taipei's postwar suburbs, the Tamsui River, and the city's bridges. Lee's photographs of human figures from the conservative 1950s are also on show. His use of light imbues the female form with the aesthetic charm of classical art.

Dennis K. Chin's early photojournalistic works document pivotal times in Taiwanese history. He made several trips after retirement, taking wonderful photographs all over the world. Chin's pictures are notable for their distinctive compositions and vibrant colors, which demonstrate the photographer's ability to capture scenes as well as his creative energy.

Lin Chuan-visual tsu's awareness is etched into the gripping works of Taichung's everyday life. During his repeated excursions to indigenous communities, Lin has also shot photographs of them. The series serves as a valuable visual archive as well as a tool for Taiwanese people to learn more about indigenous cultures. Lin's photographs of rural scenery also experiment with color photography techniques, establishing his reputation as one of Taiwan's pioneers in color photo printing.
