Applications for Taoyuan City's first social housing project in Yangmei District will be accepted through November 20. There are 214 households in total. Applications have also been loosened in addition to keeping 10% and a total of 22 houses for families with two little children or three generations living under one roof. The list of applicants now includes new immigrants and foreign spouses who are single parents of small children but have not yet received their ID card.

According to the Taoyuan City Government, Yangmei Social Residence boasts highly convenient transit and is only a 10-minute walk from Puxin Train Station. In the residential neighborhood, there are kindergartens, public childcare facilities, lifelong learning resource centers, home care service centers, and citizen activity centers.

With one to three room types that are ideal for small children and the elderly, Yangmei No. 1 social housing is open until November 20. Prior until this, applicants for social housing were required to possess a National Identification Card, according to the Office of Housing Development. Nonetheless, some foreign spouses might not have been able to apply because of a divorce or the passing of their other spouse. As a result, new immigrants are welcome to apply, and the application requirements have been loosened.
