The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), which sponsors the PATA Gold Awards, revealed the winners. The Tourism Destination Resilience (Asia Pacific) gold award was awarded to Taiwan for its Alabao Bay Secret Land Reappearance Plan, showcasing Taiwan's commitment to sustainable tourist growth.

The Heping Island Geopark in Keelung is regarded as the world's most magnificent dawn destination, according to the Tourism Bureau, MOTC. The park is abundant in biological diversity, natural resources, and historical and cultural landmarks. The North Coast & Guanyinshan National Scenic Area Administration and the local team run and manage the region using the "sustainable tourism concept" and are only open from May to September in order to continue to maintain the development of the natural ecosystem.
The administration can not only provide visitors an in-depth understanding of the beauty of Alabao Bay by training local elders to serve as tour guides, but can also collaborate with the community to transform Heping Island into a "international sustainable tourism island."

The Tourism Bureau also said that it will keep promoting the enhancement of the tourism environment and putting special emphasis on the balance between tourism and regional nature. By taking part in exchanges with other foreign organizations, it also seeks to make Taiwan stand out in the globe.
