The Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Inspection and Quarantine created a chart to help people who wish to buy souvenirs from these four nations remember which foods are permitted and which cannot be brought to Taiwan. Japan:
Items that can be brought into Taiwan: Banana-flavored snacks, konjac, and jelly without fresh fruit. Salmon roe, pollock roe.
Items that CANNOT be brought into Taiwan: fruit cakes containing fresh fruits, half-boiled eggs with uncoagulated egg yolks (hot spring eggs, candied eggs), meat products, fresh milk (except extended shelf life milk)

Korea:
Items that can be brought into Taiwan: Kimchi, banana milk, seaweed crackers, seasoned nuts.
Items that CANNOT be brought into Taiwan: Fruits, meat products, fresh ginseng (Korean quarantine certificate and filling conditions MUST be attached).

Thailand:
Items that can be brought into Taiwan: Bird's nest, honey, dried fruit.
Items that CANNOT be brought into Taiwan: Fresh fruits, rice cakes with meat floss, fried chicken skin, meat products.

US:
Items that can be brought into Taiwan: Coffee beans, nuts, chocolate, potato chips, etc.
Items that CANNOT be brought into Taiwan: Seed foods (lime, chia seeds, chickpeas, hemp seeds, flaxseeds, etc.), meat products, dried meat, fresh fruits and vegetables (lettuce salads and fruits of airplane meals cannot be brought into the country even if they have not been eaten)
Except for items mentioned above, the Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Inspection and Quarantine advises visitors to Taiwan that no products derived from animals or plants may be brought into the country carelessly. Please be sure to clarify any questions you may have in front of the "Animal and Plant Quarantine Declaration Termination Line" on the green line of entry or visit the red customs declaration desk. One won't be penalized as long as you make the request.
