The annual National Day fireworks show is set to ignite excitement once again! The 2024 National Day fireworks display will be held at the Yunlin Huwei High-Speed Rail Special Zone, featuring an estimated 30,000 fireworks that will light up the night sky. The event combines a spectacular performance with symphony music, live singing, and drone displays, creating an unprecedented audiovisual feast. This year’s fireworks show is not just a dazzling display of sparks but a grand celebration infused with cultural and artistic elements.

The 2024 National Day fireworks will start promptly at 8:00 PM on October 10th, lasting for 40 minutes, and the main display area is just a 10-minute walk from Yunlin Huwei High-Speed Rail Station, providing easy access for visitors. For those unable to reach the main viewing area, Yunlin County Government has set up 11 optimal viewing locations, including the New Huwei Softball Field, the secondary viewing area at Kendi Community Activity Center, and Huwei Night Market, offering multiple angles to enjoy the fireworks show.
On September 13th, a test run of the fireworks display was conducted at the Huwei High-Speed Rail Special Zone to evaluate the fireworks arrangements and falling debris to ensure greater safety and brilliance during the official show. The test was not only a visual spectacle but also incorporated music and drone performances, delivering a double feast of sight and sound for the audience.
The main visual design of this year’s National Day fireworks incorporates Yunlin’s local culture and features elements of Su Huan-Jen, the protagonist of Pili Puppet Theater, symbolizing the inheritance and progress of Taiwanese culture. Before the fireworks show, starting at 4:30 PM, there will be a series of cultural and artistic performances, including percussion music by the Ta Ri Music Ensemble, luminous dragon performances by the Zhuoshui River Shenglong Troupe, and choir and orchestra performances by local schools, along with various folk dances, classical dances, and street dance shows to warm up the audience. This year's National Day fireworks theme centers around Yunlin, featuring the imagery of Su Huan-jen, a prominent character from Pili Puppet Theater.
