The 36-year-old Vietnamese new immigrant who entered into Taiwan this January did not go home immediately as required, but visited a non-quarantine hotel instead, resulting in a breach in epidemic control.
Public Health Bureau in Tainan imposed a fine of NT$100,000 according to “Special Act for Prevention, Relief and Revitalization Measures for Severe Pneumonia with Novel Pathogens.” The penalty past due as Juan, the female new immigrant, refused to fulfil the penalty. The case has been transferred to Tainan Branch, Administrative Enforcement Agency, Ministry of Justice. NT$100,000 was compulsory subtracted from her in three days, in order to pay off the fine.

According to Tainan Branch, a cumulation of 20 cases have been transferred by Public Health Bureau, the case of Juan is one of the four new cases.
The case was assigned, order for execution issued, and deposit subs tracked from Juan right after the case was transferred on 17 February. The penalty was fulfilled within merely three days, according to Tainan Branch.
In the face of COVID-19, it is never allowed for citizens to neglect government’s anti-pandemic policies, putting public health in danger, as Tainan Branch further stated. Tainan Brach also calls to people who break pandemic prevention regulations and are referred for compulsory execution, saying that with evidentiary documents being submitted, they can pay off the fine in installment if their financial condition do not allowed them to pay off at once. Tainan Branch is entitled to perform compulsory execution if one refuse to comply with the penalty.
