From August 25 to 27, TAIWANfest Toronto will take place at the Harbourfront Center in Toronto. The three-day festival showcases Taiwanese culture in full by including food, films, music, visual arts, exhibitions, talks, and more.

The TAIWANfest Toronto has been hosted at Toronto's Harbourfront Center for many years, which is reminiscent of Taiwan's geographical setting of being surrounded by water, according to Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow (鄒至蕙) in her opening remarks. Canada may consider the idea that no one is an outsider in our country as well as personal identity and shared cultural experiences throughout the course of three days of different artistic and cultural events.
With the topic "Self-Portraits of Formosa - Reminiscing the Dutch?" this year's TAIWANfest Toronto sparked a trilateral discussion between the Netherlands, Taiwan, and Canada to examine the "decolonization" movement and concentrate on exchanges on equality, tolerance, and diversity concerns. TAIWANfest Toronto also aspires to increase Canadians' awareness of Taiwanese culture, foster cross-cultural dialogue between Taiwanese and Canadian cultural leaders, and promote the multicultural ideals shared by both nations.
