The Ministry of the Interior recently announced that on December 30, 2020, a review meeting for high-level professionals & Naturalization was held. A total of 6 more high-level professionals have been naturalized as Taiwan nationals, including 3 in the field of education, 2 in the field of science and technology, and 1 in the field of economics. Since 2016, there have been 217 high-level professionals naturalized in Taiwan.

According to the Ministry of the Interior, among them, Mr. Shi, a 33-year-old American, has experience in one of the six core strategic industries promoted by the government, such as blockchain, virtual reality (VR), programming, and various emerging digital communications, which will help Taiwan’s future development of the information and communications industry.

Mr. Chen from the United States specializes in the development of the production technology of Prism Sheet. The Ministry of the Interior said that Mr. Chen obtained 19 patents during his stay in Taiwan, which enabled his company to achieve a leading position in technology and was awarded the first year Taiwan Mittelstand Award (卓越中堅企業獎) presented by the Ministry of Economic Affairs. He has greatly contributed to the technological advancement of Taiwan's optoelectronics industry.

In addition, Mr. Dai from Belgium is currently the director of the Language Institute of a university in Taiwan. He specializes in linguistics, especially the in-depth study of the Indigenous Bunun language. He also actively promotes the international development of the school and is an important scholar in the preservation and internationalization of the indigenous culture.

The Ministry of the Interior stated that after high-level professionals are naturalized as Taiwan nationals, so that they can enjoy various social welfare benefits and the right to vote.
