The National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, regarded as the best in Eastern Europe, traveled 8,000 kilometers over three days to Taiwan for a special tour. The nation insisted on calming people with lovely music and spreading its prayers for peace while being at war.

The Taiwanese folk song "Bng Tshun-hong" (望春風/ Spring Wind) was played at a news conference the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine conducted in Kaohsiung to show their appreciation and support for Taiwan. In order to express the respect of the Kaohsiung people for the unity of the Ukrainian people, the Kaohsiung City Government also projected the yellow and blue colors of the Ukrainian flag on the banks of the Love River and the Kaohsiung Music Center.

The manager of the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, Oleksandr Hornostai, expressed his delight at traveling to Taiwan and expressed the hope that locals would like their performance. The orchestra's activities were put on hold due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but rehearsals and concerts started up again in April of this year. It was moving to see the orchestra play on for the folks in the shelter after the alarm went off, seeking to bring them back to peace and safety.
