A Police Station in Miaoli County recently held the "Traffic Safety talks for foreigners", which attracted more than 40 new immigrants and foreigners to participate in. The event focused on traffic safety. The police have left a deep impression on the participants by showing a live action drama together with follow-up explanations.
The action drama presented the collision between the new immigrants and the nationals, explaining the procedures handled by the police after a car accident and the rights and interests of both parties in a vivid and light-hearted way.
The Deputy Commissioner of the Police Station Qiu Li Yi (邱麗宜), said that traffic accidents are the personal safety issues most closely related to everyone. It is an unfamiliar issue to most of us including Taiwan nationals.
Foreigners or new residents are more likely to deepen their sense of fear because of language barriers or unfamiliar places they are living in. It is hoped that the live action dramas that are close to life experiences will deepen their impressions and strengthen their awareness of traffic safety.
