At a recent reception held at the Office of the President Republic of China (Taiwan), President Tsai Ing-wen acknowledged the efforts and contributions of 112-year national model workers and model migrant workers. Five of these "model" migrant workers have been employed in Taiwan for over six years, and they have all indicated a desire to continue doing so.

PHAM THI YEN from Vietnam, Jeffrey Papa Opriasa from the Philippines, UDSUK SURACHAI from Thailand, VI VAN TU from Vietnam, and ATIKARIKA from Indonesia are among the migrant workers the president spoke with. The five persons and their companies are willing to continue working together by employing and moving mid-level technical professionals since they have each worked in manufacturing and nursing for years and have received great praise from the directors of their agencies.
Among them, PHAM THI YEN, a Vietnamese migrant worker who has spent many years working for a technology business, claimed that she studied Chinese in her spare time after work so that she could get more professional abilities. As a result, she now has the equivalent of a junior high school diploma. She is asked to help with communication between Taiwanese and Vietnamese staff and is given additional opportunities to perform at work because the supervisor places a lot of value on her language abilities. Her daughter, who is in her 20s, also desires to study in Taiwan. She so fervently aspires to keep working in Taiwan.

According to President Tsai Ing-wen, she would like to congratulate all migrant workers for their exceptional professional performance, actively support and take care of friends from the same nation, help them adapt to life in Taiwan, and work with them to make Taiwan even better.
