The "2023 German Red Dot Design Concept Award" was given to three designs created by students from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST): "RTV-Rapid Treatment Vehicle," "Unitstick-Virtual Reality Changing Joystick," and "Detachable Table." The 7.5-ton "RTV-Rapid Treatment Vehicle" is one of them; it is a unique medical vehicle that has been resized to resemble a regular ambulance. It can get to the scene of an accident fast, enhancing the effectiveness of rescue efforts.

Yan-Chi Chang and Guan-Ming Yang, two NTUST students of the Department of Design, created "RTV-Rapid Treatment Vehicle". The two designers' first hypothesis was that a small, uneven route at the scene of a tragedy would adversely influence the efficiency and caliber of rescue efforts. As a result, they created the "RTV-Rapid Treatment Vehicle" with a multipurpose space design and great mobility.

Yan-Chi Chang mentioned that during his junior year of product design class, he began going on field trips to observe medical supply vans. The final concept increased the personnel movement and utilization of the surrounding area in addition to reducing the volume through iterative design tweaks.

Furthermore, design instructor Shih-Hsu Lin stressed the significance of empathy in the process. In addition, he made aggressive contact with the fire department and car manufacturers once the two students finished their design, with the goal of eventually seeing the "RTV-Rapid Treatment Vehicle" produced and put to use in real disaster relief efforts.
