She referred to Taiwan as "Wow Taiwan" in the post. Hale indicated that she was considering her options after learning that she had misplaced her wallet. A person who discovered the wallet contacted her through Facebook in less than 10 minutes, and Hale promptly received wallet back.

Hale is a student of Chinese at National Taiwan Normal University and has published articles for a variety of international publications, such as The Guardian, The Independent, Al Jazeera, Voice of America (VOA), etc. Hale expressed her amazement at the experience of finding the missing wallet, despite the fact that she had heard of several other such stories.
