Taiwanese stand-up comedian Kuan Wen Huang (黃冠文) is not afraid to use a Chinese accent when speaking in English. He successfully debuted an hour-long solo act at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the United Kingdom and received excellent accolades for it thanks to his self-deprecation and sense of humor.
One of the biggest arts events in the world is the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, which takes place in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. The most popular program category at the Fringe has been stand-up comedy for the previous ten years. This year, Taiwanese Kuan Wen Huang not only had a solo performance on stage but was also invited by the BBC to record the Fresh from the Fringe unit. They recounted the tale with ten other performers who were chosen after sifting through hundreds of comedic performances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and spread laughter worldwide.

The top 10 funny quotes from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival were also chosen by The Guardian in the UK. With the help of Ilha Formosa's lines, Kuan Wen Huang also reached the list, becoming the only Asian and one of the few comedians from non-English speaking nations to do so.

According to Kuan Wen Huang, he had previously performed with other individuals up until last year, and this year he debuted his first solo show. Even after being bluntly informed that he couldn't support himself by performing stand-up comedy, Kuan Wen Huang continued to pursue his goals, especially his greatest wish is that following each performance, audiences from other nations will develop an interest in Taiwan.
