There are many foreigners living in Taiwan and because of the current epidemic conditions, it might be a while before they can return to their home countries. YouTuber Logan Beck (LoganDbeck 小貝) answers the question many netizens are asking: “Will he return to the United States to avoid the epidemic?”. Beck responded “I am now a Taiwanese”.
Beck is married to a Taiwanese and he is currently residing in Changhua County. Ever since the outbreak in Taiwan, many friends and fans have been concerned, wondering whether he will return to the United States. People ask "Do you plan to go back since the United States already has the vaccine?". Later on, even his own mother asked him if he will be going home.

To this, he responded "I will wait until the epidemic eases in Taiwan. Let us be strong and support one another through these times. I will not abandon this place. Although I miss home, and time differences are hard, it is not actually a problem to return to the United States. However, going home due to the current situation makes me feel like I am abandoning Taiwan. My skin and my passport present the United States but my heart stays in Taiwan."

Beck filmed a video telling his audiences that we must work together in controlling this epidemic. He says we are a big family and a team. In his video, he proceeded to drink his favorite local drink, rice milk "米漿" and cheerfully said, "The best drink in the world can't be found abroad". He jokingly said this is the only reason why he decided to stay in Taiwan. This video attracted viewers and received comments and support from netizens saying: "Thank you for loving Taiwan!", "I'm so touched!", "Wow, you're like a local Taiwanese!".
